Feng Shui and Vastu, Together
Feng Shui is a Chinese practice built around the Bagua map, the Five Elements, and the flow of chi through a space. Vastu Shastra is an Indian practice built around cardinal directions, the five elements in a different arrangement, and the placement of specific rooms relative to the entrance. The two systems developed independently, but they agree on far more than they disagree on. Both treat a home as something that actively helps or actively works against the people living in it. Both use direction, weight, color and material as the levers for change, rather than relying on ornaments alone.
Where they differ is in emphasis. Vastu weighs the compass direction of the plot and the entrance heavily. Feng Shui weighs your personal Kua number, calculated from your birth date and gender, and how it interacts with the layout.
